Both sides netted injury-time goals to inject some much-needed excitement into a match that dragged along for large periods.

Just as the game was petering out to a goal-less draw, Ross Clark missed a gilt-edged chance to net for Queens when he missed an open goal minutes from the end of the match. The midfielder took the ball round the keeper but contrived to lift it over the bar when all he had to do was fire into an empty net.

But Clark paid dearly for his miss when the visitors went ahead in the first minute of injury time. Second half substitute Allan Youngson crossed from the left flank and top scorer Scott Michie fired past the Queens Park keeper at the near post.

However, the visitors' lead was short-lived as Queens equalised almost straight from the kick-off. Shaun Molloy rose to head a Paul Harvey corner goalwards and Frank Carroll was on hand to turn the ball into the net from close range.

The only real talking point of note, apart from the goals, occurred late in the first half when the referee awarded Queens Park a penalty before reversing his decision following consultation with his linesman.

Danny Ferry's cross struck the hand of Dougie Cameron, who was clearly outside the box. The referee immediately pointed to the spot before speaking to his assistant, and correctly changed the award to a free-kick outside the box.
