Peterhead 3-0 Clyde- Match Report

Rodgers double downs Clyde

A brace from Andy Rodgers helped second-placed Peterhead to a 3-0 win at home to Clyde.

Rodgers came close for Peterhead on 23 minutes, but his shot whistled over the bar from 12 yards.

But he was not to be denied for long and in the 44th minute, Dean Cowie skipped down the right and pulled the ball back to Rodgers who calmly volleyed into the top corner.

Three minutes into the second half Rodgers grabbed his second as David Cox crossed from the left and the 29-year-old headed home from six yards.

Rory McAllister added the third when he was fouled by Iain Gray and converted the resulting penalty into the bottom right corner.

Clyde's day went from bad to worse two minutes later when Stephen Bronsky was shown a straight red card for swearing.

And Rodgers nearly bagged his hat-trick on 84 minutes but could not keep his shot down from the edge of the penalty area.
