Peterhead 2-0 East Stirling- Match Report

Blue Toon finish with victory

Peterhead signed off their Scottish Third Division campaign with an easy 2-0 win against East Stirling at Balmoor.

It took just 12 minutes for the Blue Toon to draw first blood, James Redman sweeping home Rory McAllister's cross.

Martin Bavidge and Roy McBain both came close to grabbing a quick second, before the Shire's Kevin Turner forced a block from Scott Ross.

David Cane got across to deny Bryan Deasley's cracking volley and Bavidge saw another ripping effort repelled by Grant Hay as half-time approached.

The Blue Toon got the second goal their early domination had merited just five minutes after the restart, Ross stooping to glance Ross Smith's header into the net.

McAllister spurned two opportunities to extend the hosts' lead further as time ticked away, but the victory was enough to secure a fifth-placed finish.
