A late equaliser gave Cowdenbeath a deserved point as Peterhead conceded another late goal.

A poor game produced few moments of entertainment in front of goal, despite an explosive start to the match.

With only three minutes gone, recent signing from Dundee, Dougie Cameron, rifled a free-kick into the top corner from 20 yards to give the home side a perfect start.

Cowdenbeath responded with two great efforts from Paul McHale. After 13 minutes his 25-yard shot crashed off the underside of the crossbar, then in the 26th minute he fired in another long-range effort which home keeper Paul Mathers tipped on to the bar.

Peterhead had a great chance to extend their lead when a sweeping move involving Craig Tully and Cameron set up Jamie Buchan, but he shot wide from the corner of the six-yard box with the goal at his mercy.

The second half saw Peterhead dominate with substitute Bobby Linn the instigator of most of the home side's creative moves.

A second goal never came for Peterhead, however, and they were punished when the visitors scored six minutes from the end. Ryan McCallum crossed from the right side of the penalty area for Gary Fusco to score from close range.
