Peterhead 0-0 Stirling- Match Report

Plucky Stirling make their point

Basement club Stirling had defender Brian Allison sent off as they held play-off hopefuls Peterhead to a 0-0 draw.

Neither side ever looked like scoring in what was a very quiet first half at Balmoor. Shots were at a premium, with neither goalkeeper having to make a meaningful save before the break.

Stirling midfielder Phillip Johnston had a magnificent opportunity to give the visitors the lead in the 65th minute but fired his 18-yard strike straight at Blue Toon stopper Graeme Smith.

The game's biggest talking point came in the 83rd minute when the Binos were reduced to 10 men, Allison seeing red when he was adjudged to have fouled midfielder Jamie Redman.

But Peterhead were unable to make their numerical advantage count and the game ended all square.
