Three own goals for woeful Peterhead

Peterhead scored three own goals as Elgin cruised to a 6-1 victory in a comedy of errors at Borough Briggs.

The hosts took the lead in bizarre fashion after 25 minutes, David Ross' backpass ran straight under the boot of Peterhead keeper Paul Jarvie.

Elgin doubled their lead after 53 minutes when Paul Millar finished from close range after the visitors failed to clear Daniel Moore's corner.

Peterhead played themselves further into trouble three minutes later as Rory McAllister headed Moore's cross past his own keeper.

Defender Callum McDonald completed the hat-trick of own goals after 70 minutes, Moore involved again when his cross was nodded past Jarvie.

James Redmond restored some pride for the visitors 10 minutes from time when he finished inside the area after good work from Ryan Strachan.

But the Black and Whites were relentless in the closing stages, Brian Cameron and Craig Gunn both got on the scoresheet in the final minutes with strikes from the edge of the area.
