Airdrie ended a winless run of seven games in all competitions after Christopher Craig's goal secured a 1-0 home victory over Peterhead.

Craig netted his first of the season on the half-hour mark, latching onto a Paul Lovering header to score from 12 yards.

He could have made it 2-0 just after the break but he volleyed wide.

The Blue Toon pushed for an equaliser but Dennis Wyness and Scott Ross shot wide before Connor Gethans was denied twice by United goalkeeper Mark Ridgers.

Gary Muir also went close to wrapping up the points before the home side were reduced to 10 men in injury time with Rhys Devlin being dismissed for a professional foul on Stuart Smith.
