Peterhead V Montrose at Balmoor Stadium - Match Preview

Morton doubt for Montrose

Montrose striker Scott Morton is a doubt for the match at Peterhead after suffering from whiplash following a car accident.

Gable Endies manager Stuart Garden will name his side on Saturday lunchtime to give the striker extended time to recover.

Defender Paul Lunan is definitely out due to an ankle fracture.

Garden said: "We are looking to bounce back after losing to Berwick in midweek and dropping out of the play-off places in a disappointing fashion.

"Peterhead have been very strong at home all season but if we are more clinical in front of goal we have the chance to be the first side to do that.

"A win would see us climb back above them in the table and that would be a good afternoon's work."

Peterhead manager Jim McInally will delay naming his team as industrious striker Stephen Maguire is struggling with a knock.

Maguire was injured in the 3-0 win over Peterhead and is a major doubt, but Jamie Redman should be available despite having stitches placed in a head wound he picked up in the same game.

Scott Ross sits out a third game through suspension and David Ross continues to be sidelined by a knee problem.

McInally said: "We played well at Elgin but still needed some good saves from our goalkeeper at crucial times.

"Montrose turned us over recently so we know that we are in for another tough afternoon."
