Blue Toon wait on Buchan

Peterhead are rushing to complete a deal for Kevin Buchan ahead of their meeting with Alloa.

The former Dundee striker has opened contract talks with the club but may not be able to agree terms before kick-off on Saturday.

The Blue Toon will definitely be without defenders Scott Ross and Callum MacDonald (both knee) while Dean Cowie (hamstring) is also doubtful.

Manager Jim McInally said: "Paul Hartley has built a very sold squad at Alloa and they have strengthened it with the addition of Declan McManus who is a player I admire. It will be a tough test to knock them out but we will give it our best shot."

Alloa could hand a debut to striker Declan McManus following his loan move from Aberdeen.

However, the Wasps will travel without Jason Marr (back), Iain Flannigan (ankle), Willie Robertson (hamstring) and Darren Young (calf).

Manager Hartley said: "We are travelling north a bit low on numbers which is not ideal for such a tough tie but we will be positive as always.

"I watched Peterhead beat Aberdeen recently and they looked good so we will need to put in a top performance to win through."
